There are so many ways to support our mission. And being part of the voluntary sector is a great way to get started.
Opportunities to do a fundraising event is one way to get our message across to your community. Why not do a car-wash event – hold a coffee morning with your friends. Really the list is endless and ideas boundless!
Here are a few examples of what lengths some people have gone to in supporting Oasis of Hope and bring a smile to a child in Colombia!
Amanda and Patricia ran a half-marathon on behalf of Oasis of Hope and raised $12,000 with a portion of that being match funded by Thomson Reuters Bank.
Marvin Couch, founder of Environmental Painting Alternatives in Orlando, Florida came to Oasis of Hope in Colombia and along with his team painted the entire school – at an estimated cost of over $100,000.
Martin, who wanted to remain anonymous – climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and raised $7,000 for the children of Colombia.
Dr. Woodwin Weeks brings his team from Georgia to Colombia annually to conduct a medical mission. They do an awesome job and bless hundreds of needy people in the community.
Malteser International – global faith-based charity volunteered to come to Oasis of Hope in Santa Marta and did an amazing job doing a 2-week medical campaign.
Obviously, not everyone can go to Colombia and paint a school and do medical missions!
However, everyone can do something to raise the quality of life of disadvantaged children and help break the cycle of poverty they were born into!
